The topic of discussion at the latest sit down between the Sheridan County Commissioners and the Sheridan City Council focused on inspections for vehicle identification numbers and hull identification numbers for watercraft. Typically the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office will do the inspection anytime Monday through Friday during business hours if residents bring their vehicle or boat to the Sheriff's Office. Sheridan County Sheriff Dave Hofmeier says that if need be, they'll come to you for the inspection.

The Sheriff added that they do not collect any fees for the VIN inspections, as the county clerk's office is who residents pay for the service once it is completed.
