County Approves Allocation of Funds

The Sheridan County Commissioners approved the allocation of $250,000 to Green House Living for Sheridan at their meeting Tuesday. Sheridan County Administrative Director Renee' Obermueller explains how the County was able to provide the funding for Green House.

Obermueller said that when the County collects an excess of what was budgeted in 1% funds, they become general county funds that rollover.

Commissioners also approved the distribution of Affordable Housing Funds. Of the the Woodland Park Subdivision receiving $200,000; $40,000 to the Sheridan Housing Action Committee, and $38,000 to Habitat for Humanity. CBM impact monies that were distributed to the County and each of its municipalities in 2006 were to be used for the financing of infrastructure of four individual affordable housing projects.

In 2008, an account was created for the Sheridan County Affordable Housing program for funds that were received in satisfaction of the liens, or funds forfeited by the developer or qualified buyer from market sales.
