County Adjust Budgets for Sheriff, Public Health, Solid Waste

Johnson County's Commissioners made adjustments to the budgets for the sheriff, public health and the solid waste district, to correct a number of mistakes that surfaced with last year's budgets.

From the General Fund, the Johnson County Sheriff had $25,000 added to their budget to cover costs from the county's Search and Rescue team during the search for the girl that fell through the ice at Powder River Rest Area. The sheriff ended up sending back about $15,000 of unused funds.

Also from the General Fund, Johnson County Public Health gained $15,000 to cover shortfalls in their budget.

And from One-Percent Funds, the Solid Waste District had $40,000 added to their budget that was inadvertently left off of last year's budget as a carryover from the previous year.

The commissioners discussed the changes in a public hearing, but no public comment was offered.

Resolution No. 513, containing these changes, was approved by the commission.
