After a little over four years on the Sheridan City Council, Council President Jesus Rios announced that Monday night’s meeting would be his last, as he made the decision to resign from the position.

Rios said that there were two major factors that led to his decision.

Rios talked about one of the biggest things he’ll take from his time on the Council.

Mayor Roger Miller said that there will be a public process on filling the vacancy, and that they are discussing options and past procedure for doing so with City Attorney Greg Von Krosigk. Rios’ term will run through next year.
