Sheridan City Council President John Bigelow

The Sheridan City Council budget work sessions continued Wednesday with another round of non-profits applying for optional one cent sales tax monies. It was a lengthy session, as 12 different local non-profit agencies gave a brief rundown of what they do and what the funds would be used for. There are over twenty non-profits applying for one cent funds this year. Council President John Bigelow tells us how they plan to handle that many applicants in the midst of declining revenues.

The total amount requested from the various agencies is $920,000 more than what the City is projecting to receive from the optional one cent sales tax for fiscal year 2010-2011.
