Council Says No Kids In Bars After 10

Underage children will not be allowed to eat in bars in Ranchester unless they are accompanied by a parent, and no minor will be allowed to eat in a bar after 10 o'clock even if a parent is with the child.

Ranchester's town council approved the ordinance setting limits on minors in bars at the council meeting Tuesday night.

Councilors gave second-reading approval of an ordinance on flood damage prevention. A third reading is required before the ordinance becomes law. Council members were scheduled to award bids for propane, but no bids were submitted. The town will remain with its current provider, Blakman Propane.

In regard to other issues, a person reportedly responsible for violation of the town's noxious odor ordinance did not appear at the meeting. Councilors asked Ranchester's fire chief to investigate. In other action, a resident concerned with snow being piled in his driveway asked council members to consider alternatives for snow removal.
