Council Holds Special Meeting to Expedite Zoning Change Request

The Sheridan City Council held a special meeting Monday to consider second reading of an ordinance that rezones property on North Main Street in Sheridan. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.


The Council approved second reading of ordinance #2190 that rezones the former Kmart building and adjoining property from B-1 to B-2 to allow for Emit Technologies to utilize the building for light manufacturing and corporate office space. City of Sheridan Community Development Director Brian Craig.

Susan Osborn with Emit, said that they are looking forward to starting production at the new site by the beginning of September.

Third and final reading of the ordinance is expected to be considered by the City Council at their next regularly scheduled meeting, Monday, June 18.
