Council to Consider Approval of Firefighter Contract at Monday Meeting

The Sheridan City Council has been in negotiations with the local firefighters union over the past several weeks. Those negotiations were to determine a new contract, that would go into effect on July 1st, when the old contract expires. Council President Jesus Rios said that at their regularly scheduled meeting on Monday, they will consider approval of said contract.

If an agreement is not reached, Rios said the decision may go to arbitration, something that he believes no one is in favor of. There will also be several updates at Monday’s meeting.

Also on the agenda, the council will go into an executive session to regarding a city employee. Sheridan City Council meeting are open to the public and take place starting at 7pm in the third floor council chambers of city hall. You can also listen to a live stream of the meeting on AM 1410 KWYO.
