Conversations in History

The Hub on Smith Street attracted nearly 30 people to hear Helen Laumann’s presentation on the beginnings of the Wrench Ranch in her monthly presentation of Conversations in History.

She began with the first owners who started the ranch in 1882.

Some 30 years later, new owners took over.

She shared an interesting tidbit of how the ranch expanded by buying neighboring orphan homesteads.

It was then sold to Neltje and Butch Jellis, which at the time included 7200 acres of deeded land and 3000 acres of state land.
