Conservation District: Trees Can be Ordered Online

The tree program of the Sheridan County Conservation District is now open, and trees can be ordered online this year.

The announcement came at the conservation district meeting earlier this week. Conservation District Manager Carrie Rogaczewski elaborated.

The purpose of the program is to provide trees for conservation purposes, not for ornamental use. Trees are provided for riparian filter strips, wildlife habitat, field or farmstead windbreaks, living snow fences, livestock or recreation areas.

In other matters at the conservation district meeting, the board was notified of a vacancy on the Sheridan tree board. Board supervisors agreed that either Rogaczewski or Conservation District staff member Jackie Carbert would fill the vacancy.
