Conservation District Approves Agreement

The Sheridan County Conservation District has approved an agreement with the federal Natural Resources Conservation Service that will allow the Conservation District to secure outside engineering services for a project in Sheridan County.

Action came during the board of supervisors meeting Tuesday night, and will allow the board to move forward with a stream stabilization project in the Tongue River Canyon.

In other action, supervisors vote to retain their current slate of officers, who are Susan Holmes, chair; Edith Heywood, vice chair; and Orrin Connell, secretary/treasurer.

The board also scheduled a work session for 12:30 p.m. on Jan. 26. The work session will be in the board's regular meeting place in the Cottonwood Center on Sugarland Drive.

Supervisors also accepted the mid-year budget review, and acknowledged a review of the district's memo of understanding with the NRSC and the civil rights policy.
