One of the initial steps to address the issue of attainable/workforce housing in Sheridan is to conduct an audit of the City of Sheridan building codes. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The City and the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority, or SEEDA, have concluded that a new updated housing study is essential to addressing the housing issue in Sheridan. SEEDA Administrator Robert Briggs says that a code audit is one of the things that can be done before embarking on a full blown study.

Briggs said the information gathered will be used to come up with some straightforward fixes and refinements that can be made to zoning and development codes that will help facilitate housing.
