Community Input Wanted for City Administrator Candidates

The City of Sheridan is inviting the public to a reception Tuesday from 4:30 to 6:30 pm in the atrium of the Whitney building at Sheridan College to meet the two candidates for the position of city administrator.

Mayor John Heath says the public will able to meet and interact with the candidates.

Heath said people will be able to provide written comments that will be forwarded to the Sheridan City Council for consideration. Following Tuesday’s reception, the candidates will be interviewed Wednesday by two interview panels consisting of City Council members, City Executive staff, and members of the community.

The two candidates are Mark Collins, who’s served as the Associate Vice President for Administration and Local Government Relations at the University of Wyoming since 2007, and Anthony Tolstedt, who’s served as the City Administrator and Human Resources Director for the City of Douglas since 2012.

The City hired Prothman, an executive search firm, to help with the search and hiring of a new city administrator. After a review of the written applications, Prothman interviewed candidates that best met the city’s profile for the position. Prothman then met with the City Council to review the results of the interviews and the Council chose the two finalists.
