Community Holiday Dinner Serves The Biggest Crowd Yet

The Sheridan Community Holiday Dinner has been a tradition for nearly two decades. The first few years there were several hundred meals served each Christmas season. Yesterday, over 1,200 people enjoyed a full holiday meal for free. Holiday Inn General Manager Mark Demple says they have hosted the event all 19 years.

Some of those volunteers are the Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors who make the time each year to serve the meal. Chamber Director Janelle Martinsen says volunteers come from throughout the community.

Children were thrilled with the appearance of Santa and Mrs. Claus. Kids received a gift bag and families signed up for food bags if they needed them. The families will pick up those food donations over the next couple of days. Food left over from the meal has been delivered to the soup kitchen in Sheridan.
