Committee Narrows Names For New Buffalo School

The name for Buffalo's new intermediate school was narrowed from over 100 suggestions down to three by the naming committee, and the three names were announced at Monday night's school board meeting.

The three names chosen were Buell Elementary, Cottonwood Elementary, and Cloud Peak Elementary.

The public will have a say in naming the new school, and can vote on their favorite either by getting a paper ballot at the school district offices or by voting online on their website.

Superintendent Dr. Rod Kessler said Buffalo's school kids will get to learn about our election process as they vote for their favorite as well.

Paper ballots can be picked up at 601 West Lott Street and votes can also be cast online at and following the prompts.

Voting closes December 9th, and the School District Board of Trustees will make the final choice at their regular meeting December 12.
