Sheridan's Historic District Business Committee spent a significant portion of this morning's meeting discussing the ongoing parking issue in the downtown area.

Sherry Wagoner, owner of High Mountain Mercantile for the past six years, said parking has always been a sore spot downtown.

Wagoner noted that diagonal parking spaces would allow for more vehicles in the downtown area and remove the necessity of parallel parking downtown. However, that parking plan would also demand the street go from four to two or three lanes.

Businesses in the area are also stepping up a campaign to ensure employees are parking away from Main Street as well.
