Commissioners Meeting Today In Buffalo

Johnson County's Commissioners will have their second regular meeting today instead of Tuesday, to allow them to approve and adopt their annual budget for fiscal year 2017-18.

The commissioners will pass their final budget, including approval of the mill levies for the special districts in the county; passing Resolution Numbers 584, 585, and 586 which will provide income necessary to finance and transfer funds to the coming year's budget.

Also on the agenda are a tax correction; consideration of a Resolution for a partial fire restriction in the county and a malt beverage permit; discussion of a special use lease on the Johnson County Youth Camp and discussion of an early retirement package for county employees.

In the afternoon, the commission will meet with the County Board of Health and the Justice Center Joint Powers Board.

The meeting will get underway at 9 this morning at the historic courthouse downtown.
