Commissioners Deny Rezone Request

The Sheridan County Commissioners met for their first regularly scheduled meeting of August Tuesday. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter was there and has the details.

By a narrow vote of 2 in favor and 3 against, the Commission chose to deny a request by Kristen Cogswell to rezone her property at 2667 West Loucks Street from Urban Residential to C-1 Commercial. The 3.54 acres of property that fronts State Highway 331 contains the old Fry Construction shop and office with an upstairs apartment and several storage structures. Cogswell addressed the Commission prior to their denial of the rezone request.

Bruce Tomsovic, whose property borders Cogswell’s property to the west voiced his disapproval on the proposed rezone request.

Commissioners Bob Rolston and Mike Nickel voted in favor of the rezone, while Terry Cram, Tom Ringley and Steve Maier voted against the request.
