The Sheridan County Commissioners met for their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter was there and has the details.

In October of 2008, Sheridan County provisions concerning large acreage subdivisions became effective regulating the division of land where parcels deemed agricultural must be a minimum of 80 acres.

Commissioners at their meeting Tuesday approved a large acreage grant of exemption to landowner Donna Czyzynski to create two 40 acre tracts on property located at 96 Early Creek Road north of Ranchester. Initially, Commission Chairman Steve Maier was hesitant to approve the request, but ended up voting in favor of the exemption to make the commissioner’s vote unanimous.

The Commission also accepted the audit for fiscal year 2015-2016. Administrative Director Renee Obermueller said that the single audit requirements are becoming more stringent every year and that one of the changes was the interpretation of determining between a low-risk and high-risk audit.

Obermueller said the updated audit is available to view on the County’s website at www.sheridancounty.com.
