Commission Awards Several Bids

The Sheridan County Commission met for their first regular meeting of July Tuesday morning.

The Commission awarded bids for the GA Ramp and Access Road Reconstruction project at the Sheridan County Airport. The bid for Site Grading was awarded to Intermountain Construction and Materials in the amount of $259,229.50; the bid for Drainage was awarded to Mountain View Building, Inc. in the amount of $196,350; the bid for Concrete Paving was awarded to Pro Line Concrete, Inc in the amount of $139,400; the bid for Asphalt Paving was awarded to Wharton Asphalt in the amount of $229,813.60; and the bid for Electrical was awarded to Modern Electric in the amount of $4,601.60.

Commissioners approved a Maintenance and Lease Agreement with Forward Sheridan, Inc. for space in the Double Eagle Technical Park in the amount of $2,000 per month.

They approved an addendum to the County employee Delta Dental contract for the period of July 1, 2010 through June 11, 2011. Rates increased 3%, but Business Manager Renee Obermueller told the Commission that this is the first rate increase in three years. The County pays 100% for employees' dental coverage.

Commissioners entered into a one-year services agreement with Ptolemy Data Systems for I.T. work for the Sheridan County Sheriff's Office in the amount of $3,397 per month.

They accepted a Certificate of Substantial Completion for renovation of the 3rd and 4th floors of the Courthouse Addition remodel.

They approved an amendment to the Agreement for Inmate Health Services with Correctional Healthcare Management.

The Commission Awarded the bid of $718,780 to CMG Wyoming, LLC for work on the Metz Road Reconstruction Project, and approved $67,180 for a contract with Vista West Engineering for the administration of that project.

And the County applied for and received a $500,000 SRF Loan to complete a waterline loop at the Sheridan County Airport. Low bidder was Western Municipal Construction for a Schedule A amount of $227,460 and Schedule B amount of $9,300 for a total of $236,760.

It was decided to do the project in conjunction with the other work currently being done at the airport, keeping costs down and preventing having to dig back into completed work.

The SRF Loan is in the form of a Line of Credit, with payment due in 2012. The money has been budgeted to come from the General Fund.
