A request for a conditional use permit to erect a cell tower west of Mydland Road in Sheridan County was considered by the Sheridan County Commissioners at their regularly scheduled meeting Tuesday. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the story.

The Commission approved the CUP request from the Ebzery Limited Family Partnership that allows for a 150 foot cell tower to be constructed approximately 50 feet west of Mydland Road in northwest Sheridan County. The West Park Mobile Home Park is situated immediately across Mydland Road to the south and east of the proposed site. The cell tower will be owned by Skyway Towers and leased to T-Mobile, on a 125-acre parcel of land near Mydland Road. Liz Walker, representing Skyway Towers said that the tower will be able to accommodate up to 4 carriers with standard equipment.

Walker said the tower will address a need by filling a coverage gap and meet the ever growing demand of those who use wireless communication devices.

The Conditional Use Permit for the tower was needed as communication towers are not identified as permitted uses in urban residential areas of the County.
