Colorado Judge Calls on Wyoming to Decriminalize

A Former Municipal Judge in Colorado has publicly challenged Wyoming to change its laws regarding marijuana. Lenny Frieling has become an outspoken member of the group Law Enforcement Against Prohibition since a ballot initiative to legalize marijuana was introduced and eventually passed in Colorado.

Wyoming Public Media reports Frieling denounces the war on drugs as a failed enterprise. He points out Wyoming spent $12 million enforcing laws against marijuana in 2008. Furthermore, Frieling said the long-term impacts of a criminal conviction for what he considers to be a health issue is irrational.

He's in favor of government regulation of the drug.
