College Plans Move During Break

Sheridan College art and music classes will be moved to new locations during the Christmas break so work can start on the new art center.

College Facilities Director Kent Anderson said as soon as classes dismiss on Dec. 23, classes and office will be moved out of the existing art wing of the Whitney building. Demolish of the existing space will start in January, so the remodeling can begin.

He talked about where some of the existing classes will go.

He said the goal is to disrupt students and teachers as little as possible during the project. The project includes remodeling 12,000 square feet, including the CTEL presentation hall, and construction of another 42,000 square feet. Expected completion date for the project is June 2016.
