College Hosts High School Art Intensive

Over 120 high school students and faculty from Wyoming and Montana will be on the Sheridan College campus Thursday for the Sheridan College High School Art Intensive.

The free event is to introduce students to the Sheridan College art programs through fun, hands-on activities in the studios and classrooms in the Whitney Center for the Arts. The event will start at 9 a.m., and Sheridan College faculty and students will lead each session.

Activities will include silk-screening custom t-shirts, creating large grid portraits, creating large collaborative drawings to live music, an aluminum pour, raku firing and creating large block prints to cover a large wire bird in the lobby.

Students will rotate through different stations throughout the day, so each student will get to experience all activities. Students are expected from high schools in Sheridan, Gillette, Buffalo, Big Horn, Arvada-Clearmont, Broadus and the Wyoming Girls School.
