College Board Hosts Presidential Search Forums

Trustees of the Northern Wyoming Community College District will host two opportunities next week for the public to participate in the search for a new college president.

Both will be next Wednesday, one at 10 a.m. at Gillette College and the other at 2 p.m. at Sheridan College. The forum at Sheridan College will be in Room 008 in the Thorne-Rider Campus Center.

According to Norleen Healy, who chairs the college board, the forums are an important step in the process to ultimately select the next president of the college district.

Dr. Paul Young announced at a board meeting earlier this year that he will be retiring as president in July. Healy said the forums will be a chance for members of the public to learn more about the search process and to share their thoughts about the characteristics and qualities trustees should be looking for in Dr. Young's successor.

Pamila Fischer, a consultant with the Association of Community College Trustees, will facilitate the forums. The college district board is partnering with the association in the presidential search.
