College Board Adopts Mill Levy

Trustees of the Northern Wyoming Community College District, which operates Sheridan and Gillette colleges and an outreach center in Buffalo, voted Thursday to continue the one-mill tax levy for the next two years for college operations.

The vote followed a public hearing on the proposal to continue the levy. No one in the audience commented either for or against the proposal.

In other action during the meeting, trustees heard reports from the Gillette College and Johnson County advisory boards, a report from Trustee Walt Wragge on the Wyoming Community College Commission meeting last month, and a presentation on the proposed calendar for board meetings in the year that starts July 1. Trustees also heard from Tom Johannesmeyer, who was recently re-elected president of Sheridan College's faculty senate.
