Cody Museum Shifts To Greener Operations

POWELL, Wyo. (AP) - The Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody is taking steps to become greener. Facilities manager Paul Brock says the center's sustainability efforts run hand in hand with the museum's main purpose of preserving the past for the future. The movement at the center started in small steps, with changes like recycling containers in the break room. But now the museum has joined a program that helps businesses become sustainability leaders in their communities.
Employees are now issued reusable, biodegradable coffee cups in place of disposable cups; there are recycling containers at the front door and in foodservice areas; and the custodial staff favors biodegradable cleaning products. And it's looking at installing LED lighting, increasing
insulation, and removing old boilers.
