The City of Sheridan will soon be transitioning to a new provider of their Enhanced 9-1-1 system. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Sheridan’s current 9-1-1 provider, CenturyLink, determined last year that they would no longer support the system. Sheridan Police Chief Rich Adriaens says that the current system has served its purpose.

After an RFP process that included the City sending out multiple requests for proposals to vendors CenturyLink and Venture Technologies, the only response the City received was from Motorola. Staff is recommending that the City Council approve the purchase of the Motorola 9-1-1 system in the amount of $366,000 for a period of ten years.

The Council will be considering the purchase of the 9-1-1 system at their next regularly scheduled meeting on Monday night.
