City Staff Continue to Look at Parking Ordinance

At the direction of the Sheridan City Council, City staff has been reviewing the City's ordinance pertaining to curbside parking, with the possibility of increasing the regulations. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has more.

Upon further review, there may not be any major changes to the City's parking ordinance. Of course, that decision will ultimately come at the hands of the City Council. Sheridan Police Chief Richard Adriaens says that he and City Attorney Allison Ochs have come to the conclusion that better enforcement of the ordinance may be the solution.

Adriaens explains the definition of the current parking ordinance, which has been in place since 1971.

One modification to the ordinance that may happen has to do with safety issues. City Engineer Lane Thompson.

While the Council will take no formal action on the issue this coming Monday night at their regularly scheduled meeting, City staff will present their recommendations regarding the current ordinance that is on the books.
