All one has to do is take a quick jaunt down Main Street in Sheridan to get an understanding of the importance of art in the community. The Sheridan City Council received an update from Sheridan Public Arts Committee Chair Fachon Wilson Monday night regarding this year's Celebrate the Arts to be held in June.

Wilson explains some of the new art that will be in Sheridan very soon.

Wilson indicated that they have almost reached their fundraising goal of $45,000 to keep the sculpture known as “The Dance” in front of the Historic Sheridan Inn.

Wilson also outlined to the Council the considerable contribution art has had on the community.

This year's Celebrate the Arts will be June 10th through the 12th. The kickoff event will take place Thursday the 10th at 5 pm at the Sheridan Inn.
