City Receives Sales and Use Tax Receipts, Approves Budget

The Sheridan City Council approved the City's budget for fiscal year 2014 Monday night. The budget in total, which includes general, special revenue, enterprise, debt service and trust and agency funds is $33.9 million. The Council received an update from City Treasurer Jennifer Reed regarding the sales and use tax receipts from the Department of Revenue for fiscal year 2013.

Reed says that they are hoping to come up with a solution to the shortfall without affecting the fourth quarter disbursement to the one-cent recipients.

Reed stated that they will have a better grasp on the shortfall in a couple of weeks when the books are closed and the fiscal year comes to an end on June 30th.
