The City of Sheridan may expand their recycling program in the coming year. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the story.

Since implementing the recycling program in 2007, the City of Sheridan has taken incremental steps over the past seven years to expand the recycling effort. In 2010, 150 households from the Sparrow Hawk, Mountain View, and Cloud Peak Ranch subdivisions took part in a curbside recycling pilot program.

The City also commissioned a survey in 2012 to garner public feedback on a city wide program. Public Works Director Nic Bateson says that the survey indicated that convenience is a key factor.

Bateson said that in 2015, they would like to adopt a residential city wide curbside recycling program, however, there needs to be some changes before that can happen.

Be sure to join us Thursday, as we'll have part two in our series on curbside recycling in Sheridan.
