The City of Sheridan is looking at receiving funding from the State to help address four hill slides in the City.

Public Works Director Lane Thompson said that there are two slides located near Sheridan Junior High and Kendrick Park, one near Ridgeway Avenue and one in South Park. Thompson said that the Council will soon be considering a resolution that authorizes Mayor Roger Miller to sign the Clean Water State Revolving Fund Pre-Application for the Emergency Hill Slides Stabilization Project in the amount of $2.5 million.

Thompson said that they are hoping to be added to the agenda of the February 1 meeting of the State Loan and Investment Board as an emergency project due to the potential for additional slides and damage in the spring.
