The Sheridan City Council received some good news Monday from City Solid Waste Superintendent Charles Martineau, who provided the council with an update on the City’s recycling program. Martineau said since last summer when the City implemented its curbside recycling program, recycling has increased significantly.

Martineau talked about a few of the immediate goals for the curbside recycling program.

Martineau said 56 percent of the 6,353 households are participating in the program. He said that number is typical, as industry standard data shows that it usually takes three years before a program is fully adopted.
