City Council Receives Budget Update From City Engineer

The 2 year Capital Improvement Plan(CIP) and a budget update for the next fiscal year were presented to the Sheridan City Council on Thursday by City Engineer Lane Thompson. Thompson said that the CIP plan outlines major construction projects that have started this summer and those that will be happening next summer. One of those bigger projects is currently on Loucks.

Another big project is the Rotomill Overlay which encompases 17 blocks.

Thompson said that this maintenance usually gives the road 20-30 years more use. He said that the alternative would be to let the road completely deteriorate and spend 3 times as much to get a 40 or 50 year road. As far as the budget goes.

The budget for fiscal year 2016-2017 is projected to be $12,707,883.
