The City of Buffalo has been searching for a building inspector for a number of weeks, and at last week's city council meeting, City Planner Zach Montgomery requested the council's approval to hire one of the applicants.

Montgomery explained the process to the council.

Mayor Randy Dyess asked the council to approve Montgomery's choice and they advised him to make an offer of employment to Toby Rhoades. Rhoades was most recently the building inspector in Red Lodge, Montana.

Growing up in Newcastle, Rhoades is pleased to be moving back to Wyoming, closer to home, according to Montgomery. Rhoades has since accepted the position, according to Montgomery, and his starting salary will be $40,000 per year. He will have a one year probationary period before his employment becomes permanent.

He is tentatively scheduled to begin his new job with the City of Buffalo on September 19 or sooner if possible.
