The Sheridan City Council gave their approval this week to have staff apply for two mineral royalty grants through the State Loan and Investment Board. The City will apply for a $500,000 grant that would be used for the West Loucks Street reconstruction project, and a $300,000 grant that would go towards the East Downtown Reconstruction project.

City Engineer Lane Thompson says that the projects aren't contingent on the grant applications being approved.

While the SLIB Board won't make a decision on the grant requests until their meeting in mid January of next year, the deadline to submit applications is September, 18.
