Valentine's Day is less than two weeks away and what would Valentine's Day be without chocolate? Saturday, a workshop was held at Sheridan College Main Street covering everything chocolate and Sheridan Media's Judy Hagerott brings us this story.

It was a workshop called, “Chocolate, Chocolate, Chocolate.” Now, that piqued my interest. Who doesn't love chocolate? Who doesn't need chocolate? I know when I'm stressed, chocolate becomes my pacifier. It satisfies.

Saturday, Sheridan College's Workforce and Community Education sponsored their monthly Pinterest-inspired craft workshop on making chocolates. Pinterest is a website smorgasboard of ideas from crafts to food to photography to everything. Director Linda St. Clair explains.

You couldn't help but feel the excitement walking into the chocolate-making room. Willie Wonka would have been proud. This bunch of ladies were having a ball and St. Clair tells us what they were making.

One lady offered me a taste of her “Pop Rocks” and actually was quite persistent sticking them right underneath my nose. That's all I needed was a bunch of candy running around exploding in my mouth, but then again, there some people that just love to run their mouths, even exploding at times.

Samantha Ripley was there up to her elbows in chocolate.

One lady asked me if I wanted to lick the chocolate off her fingers saying something like it's intimate. Eww...way too close for my bubble.

Both Ripley and St. Clair were making their chocolates to give away.

Even though Ripley doesn't like chocolate, she loves the Pinterest-inspired classes the college offers.

The Pinterest classes are fun and a great way to make new friends. They are offered monthly, the first Saturday of each month. For more information call St. Clair at 674-6446, ext. 4500.
