Cheyenne Police: Student Died From Exposure

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Cheyenne police say a teenager found dead on the grounds of her high school died from exposure after a traffic accident. Police on Friday identified the student as 18-year-old Andrea Battle of Cheyenne. Police Capt. Mitch Maxwell says a video camera at Cheyenne East High School showed Battle running away from the scene after her car hit a building near the school early Thursday morning. The temperature was about 10 degrees.

Maxwell says police officers and Battle's father searched for her following the crash but didn't find her. The camera later recorded her walking back to the school, where her body was found hours later. Maxwell says a friend told investigators that Andrea appeared to have been drinking earlier in the evening. Toxicology tests aren't available yet.
