The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board received an update from City and County staff pertaining to the Capital Improvement Program for the upcoming fiscal year. Three major projects were outlined and discussed by staff and the Board.

SAWS Board Approves 1st Reading of Budget

The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board approved the 1st reading of the proposed budget for fiscal year 2010-2011 at their meeting Wednesday. On paper, the budget doesn't appear to be balanced as the projected revenues are $1.1 million and the expenses total $1.5 million.

Rabies Clinic Going Well

The Dog and Cat Shelter's annual Rabies Clinic is going well.

The annual Dog and Cat Shelter of Sheridan rabies clinic in Kendrick Park at the bandshell has reached the half way point. Shelter Director Cel Hope says that the first three days they've averaged about 100 people a day at the clinic.

Matthew Perkins Memorial Fundraiser Friday

Friday night in Sheridan, the public is invited to the 3rd Annual Matthew Perkins Memorial Fundraiser to be held at the Sheridan Holiday Inn [correction to location!]

Matthew was killed in a car accident on October 10, 2007, and his family established a scholarship program in his memory. His mother, Jane Perkins, explains.

Teams Invited to 2010 Relay for Life

Judge Healy Plea Agreement

The case against Sheridan Municipal Court Judge Stuart Healy has been settled. As part of a plea agreement, Healy has plead No Contest to the charge of Breach of Peace. In exchange for that plea, Special Prosecutor in the case, Bill Edelman out of Gillette, agreed to dismiss the Battery charge and place Healy on probation for one year.

Department of Ed. Releases Graduation Rates

The Wyoming Department of Education released the 2008-2009 graduation rates for School Districts around the state on Tuesday. Sheridan County School District Three was one of two School Districts in the state to have a perfect 100% graduation rate for the 2008-2009 school year.
