CAST Requests Legislators To Continue ASEP Funding

CAST Requests Legislators To Continue ASEP Funding

The Sheridan and Johnson County Critical Air Service Team (CAST) discussed issues the Sheridan County Airport and their team are facing in the near future with legislators at Tuesday's Legislative Forum.

Shawn Parker spoke on behalf of CAST, and asked for additional Air Service Enhancement Program (ASEP) funding from the state for the next couple of years.

Parker said the Capacity Purchase Agreement deadlines are putting CAST on a tight schedule to get them in place, which is why they are requesting the funding.

Parker also reported that Denver Air Connection has continued to provide reliable and convenient air service between Sheridan and Denver.
Booked revenue and fared passenger numbers have increased for the third consecutive year, although fuel cost increases have necessitated ticket price increases.
CAST is currently working on an agreement with United Air Lines that will connect Sheridan directly to 300 destinations worldwide through the carrier when completed.
