Car Dealers Accused Of Altering Car's Odometers

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Two car salesmen have been indicted on charges that they tampered with vehicles' odometers to falsely show lower mileage to sell the cars for a higher price.

A federal grand jury indictment this week accuses Randy and Jay Lee of Lee's RVs Inc. in Cheyenne of running the scheme from 2002 to 2006. Federal prosecutors say the Lees bought high-mileage cars from New Mexico, Colorado, and Wyoming and then altered their odometers.

Randy Lee told the Casper Star-Tribune he wanted to speak with his attorney before commenting.

The men face charges of title fraud, securities fraud, mail fraud and conspiracy. No court date has been set.
