A Busy Day at the Sheridan County Museum

Saturday was a full day of events at the Sheridan County Museum as visitors were treated to a “behind the scenes” look at the museum. Sheridan Media’s Judy Hagerott was there and brings us this report.

Something for everyone, the Sheridan County Museum was busy Saturday. The morning began with a Tidbit Saturday, a program geared for the younger crowd, ages 4-10.

For new Curator of Education, Shawna Michelena, her topic for the morning was all about ice.

A quick break for cookies and then Michelena said it was time for a special project.

Seven year-old Isaiah Frankin was really into his artwork.

Collections Assistant, Peg Cullen, began the afternoon talking about the ‘nuts and bolts’ of cataloging and caring for historical objects.

She said visitors will have the opportunity to see what collection is all about.

The afternoon finished off with Museum Director John Woodward giving a preview of upcoming events.
