The Wyoming Business Council considered a grant application from the Sheridan Economic and Educational Development Authority at their recent meeting in Laramie. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

The Wyoming Business Council Board of Directors recommended four Business Ready Community funding requests and approved six Community Block Grant applications during their most recent meeting. The Business Council recommended approval of a grant request from SEEDA in the amount of $2.85 million and a loan in the amount of $1.5 million.

SEEDA Administrator Robert Briggs says that the funds will be used to construct a 40,000 square foot facility in the High-Tech Business Park in north Sheridan that would be leased to Kennon Products Inc. of Sheridan.

Final approval of the grant and loan requests will be considered by the State Loan and Investment Board at their January 17 meeting. SEEDA, earlier this year, received a $2.2 million grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce that will help fund the project.
