Burns Receives Fireworks Permits

State Senator Bruce Burns received permits Tuesday for two fireworks displays at the Big Horn Equestrian Center this year. The decision was made during the meeting of the Sheridan County commissioners.

The senator is a professional fireworks technician who has produced fireworks shows at the equestrian center outside Big Horn for several years. This year, in addition to the annual Fourth of July show, asked commissioners to approve a permit for a show on May 24. He said that event will be part of the community's annual Project Graduation for the senior class at Big Horn High School.

He said he would not allow anyone to shoot off fireworks after 10. After the fireworks show, he said, he'd be accompanying the graduates to the YMCA in Sheridan for a series of poker tournaments for which he provides prizes for tournament winners.
