Buffalo City Building Inspector Toby Rhoades gave his usual report to the city council at their last meeting, saying the new O'Reilly Auto Parts building that is under construction next to McDonald's is “moving along and is a good-looking building.”

He also reported that the addition to First Northern Bank is still under construction and making progress.

Rhoades also brought up City Ordinances and asked for direction from the council when property owners ignore his requests to mitigate a nuisance.

Violations of city Ordinances range from failure to keep grass and weeds trimmed to unsecured and unsafe buildings.

Rhoades wanted to know how to proceed, and after discussions Mayor Randy Dyess said Rhoades has been given authority by the council to issue tickets up to $750.
He then made a suggestion to both Rhoades and City Attorney Ben Kirven.

The council approved Rhoades and Kirven to proceed with the plan.
