Building Bio-Business in Wyoming

A two-day biotechnology conference in Sheridan wrapped up Friday afternoon. Discussion ranged from University of Wyoming Molecular Biologist Randy Lewis talking about using spider silk to produce steel-strength fiber, to broader discussions about fostering a biotech-friendly environment in Wyoming.

Jay Stender, Executive Director of Forward Sheridan, says despite the fact that as a state we are behind in biotech, there are talented individuals within our community that compete nationally. And building on that talent is important, he says:
