Brice and Kyle Johnson are Sworn as Buffalo's newest police officers.

At last week's City Council meeting, the two newest police officers to join the Buffalo PD, Brice and Kyle Johnson, were sworn into their positions by Municipal Judge Mary Hupy.

Later in the meeting, BPD Chief Jason Carder joked that his two new officers “were good people so far,” but the department should know more in the next few weeks.

He reported that Brice should hopefully be able to get his training and certification through the academy done sooner as he has had some training in the past. Kyle, he said, might begin his academy training after the first of the year. He expects to hear more in the next few weeks.

Carder also said air conditioning at the new justice center is not working in certain areas and he is working with a subcontractor of Groathouse Construction to try to get the issue resolved.

A ceiling fan has been installed in the dispatch center for now to alleviate some of the excessive heat.
