Buffalo's Pumpkin Festival Successful, Even Indoors

This past Saturday the fifth annual Pumpkin Festival was held indoors at the Johnson County Fairgrounds' Community Building as a precaution for what was expected to be rather cold weather, but the day turned out sunny and pleasant, even if it was a tad chilly.

The festival was started five years ago by Three-Way, Inc. and has been put on every year since by the company that has become Northstar Energy.

Michelle Jensen, Event Coordinator for the Festival, said the weather cooperated and there was a great turnout.

Hundreds of kids and their parents turned out to pick out a pumpkin and decorate it, to play games, enjoy some refreshments and just have fun. Donations for the Bread of Life Food Pantry were also collected at the event.

Over 9,000 lbs. Of pumpkins were provided at his year's festival, all free of charge.
