At last week's city council meeting, Municipal Judge Mary Hupy performed the ceremony to swear in Buffalo's New Animal Control Officer/Special Municipal Officer.
Karen Kimutis was the top candidate of the 16 applicants for the position, according to Buffalo Police Chief Jason Carder, who had nothing but praise for the
new officer.
Kimutis will be training for a few weeks with former ACO/SMO Todd Morrison before taking over the position by herself.
The former ACO, Morrison, will begin training to become a police officer the first of March here with the Buffalo Police Department before heading to the academy in Douglas.
